The True Measuring Stick

The True Measuring Stick

Good morning and happy end of the week to you!

We, by nature, are prone to compare ourselves to someone else to determine our status. I know mom and dad that I got a “D” on that assignment, but Johnny and Jimmy and Susie all got “F’s”! I know, officer, that I was going 10 mph over the speed limit but I was just trying to keep up with traffic. It is natural to look at ourselves and then at others to justify what we are doing or not doing.

“For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.” Matt 5:20

Jesus has been telling His disciples that things are different in the Kingdom of God. He said it isn’t enough to just teach the Word but you must also live it. Now He is saying you can’t compare yourself to another and think you are already because you seem to be doing better than they are. We have to measure ourselves according to the Word of God. We must follow His Word and example in order to please God. He is the true measuring stick.

Just a Thought! God Bless….
