Substitute Teacher

“But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, He shall TEACH you ALL THINGS, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:26)

“Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto SATAN, that they may LEARN not to blaspheme.” (I Timothy 1:20)

Be thankful for the sweet leadings of the Holy Ghost!  Because if you are a hard learner, there is a SUBSTITUTE TEACHER waiting in the hall of life to come in and “continue” your education!

I am often amazed at the hardness of heart manifest by many so called followers of Christ.  Instead of exuberating the Fruit of the Spirit (yes, those very lessons we all began learning in Sunday School), some seem to stray distractedly toward a “bully” life attitude.  Hard core spiritual bullies!

Apparently Hymenaeus and Alexander had a hard time learning from the BEST teacher of all things: the Holy Ghost!

Have you noticed how that bullies (spiritual ones too!) run around in packs of two or more?

So, when the apprentice becomes unruly and rebellious, the Holy Ghost steps out of the class room of their souls and in comes the SUBSTITUTE TEACHER!  Satan.

Although the substitute teacher is a shyster and liar, he is an official part of the teaching staff!!!

As a substitute teacher he has no long term commitment to your wellbeing and future!  None!  Rather, to the contrary, he KNOWS that he will never, ever, rise above the lower rim of hell!  So, through his sneering, yet clinched teeth you can hear him say… “Come here boys, I’ll teach you how not to blaspheme…”.

And what a lesson to learn! With this new teacher there are no rules, no exceptions, no limits!!!

Since “Hyme” and “Alex” showed no appreciation of the GOOD LIFE they had, their partner in sin becomes their teacher in school!

I wonder how Hymenaeus and Alexander felt during those long hours in that “chill”, dark classroom without the Holy Ghost as they listened to lessons from “Hell 101”?!?  I wonder if the bitterness of lost “spiritual bliss” caused them insomnia as they felt the loneness of no partners with who to SHARE life?

Hopefully they went to the Headmaster and asked… BEGGED (PLEADED!!!) for their regular teacher back!

But if their core was too hard…

Well, in that case, the course changes to “Hell 201”… “ to deliver such a one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved…”       (I Cor. 5:5).

Look, the substitute teacher is coming back with a paddle in his hands… “Come here boys… I will teach you what REAL pain is all about!”.

Yet, some never learn!  Such dimwits end up in a reformatory (hell!) forever.  In the pits of REAL hell there is no continued education.  It is too late then!

The rich man NEVER learned his lessons.  Even in hell he STILL had not learned that there is a great gulf fixed between heaven and hell… forever separating him from the portals of heaven.

Those that NEVER learn are destined to burn in their own ignorance.

In closing… the Holy Ghost isn’t such a bad teacher after all!
