Good Morning! Isn’t it great to be a Child of God?
The Psalmist had a request of God:
Ps 119:27-28, Make me to understand the way of thy precepts: so shall I talk of thy wondrous works.
28 My soul melteth for heaviness: strengthen thou me according unto thy word. KJV
There is a difference between reading something, memorizing it and understanding it. Understanding is being able to separate it and have the wisdom to apply it, to make it work. We need to be able to apply the Word of God to our lives and make it work. When we do this we will see it in a whole different light. It becomes wonderous to us. At that point, as the cares of life weigh upon us, we are able to rise above it because of the renewal we find through the Word of God.
Jesus prayed for His disciples in John and asked that their understanding be opened. That is my prayer today, “Lord, open our understanding to Your Word, that we might rise above the cares of life and speak of Your Goodness and Power!”
