We Get What We Give

get what

There is an old saying, “What you see is what you get!” However, Jesus said it differently, “What you give is what you get!”

“Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.” Matt 5:7

If we are on the “hot seat” we are sure to want mercy. Yet the real question is how we act when someone else is on the “hot seat?” Do we show mercy toward them? What if they have done us wrong? What if they keep making the same mistakes? What if they should know better? What if they are “just an idiot?” Do we show them mercy or do we say they are getting what they deserve? I don’t know about you, but all the above has fit me at one time or another and I have been thankful for whatever mercy was shown to me, both by my fellow man and by my Savior. We need to remember, we get what we give!

Just a thought! God Bless…
