There are several old sayings that came to my mind this morning. “One good turn deserves another.” “You scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours.” “You get what you deserve.” Just to name a few. Unfortunately that is how we often live our lives…we follow these rules. “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Rom 5:8 KJV I have to say that I am so thankful that God has His own rules that He follows. Paul said I was an enemy of Christ yet He still died for me. Wow! Think about that statement for a while. We all have people who call themselves our friends who don’t have time to return our phone call, yet while we were cursing Him, Christ died for us!
