Blessing In The Midst Of The Rainstorms

I was sitting on my patio and the Lord was speaking to me about showers of blessing as I watched the rain showers coming down. One night here we had a bad storm and powerful thunder and lightning and a real downpouring of rain and as I listened to it I thought of the good things that come from a rainstorm. I know that parts of the Us this past week have been experiencing very bad storms with floods but in the midst of this, there can be blessings even if we don’t know what they are as yet.

There is nothing as comforting as the sound of rain on a roof. One just wants to snuggle down under the covers and sleep as the soothing sound permeates the atmosphere. We all know the age-old adage, April showers bring May flowers. The rains of the spring and fall season are absolutely essential for the starting and maturing of crops due to the dryness of summer. The lack of rain at the proper time has often been a cause of the complete failure of a harvest.

Psalms 84:6 states, “Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools.”

The valley of Baca in the Bible is referring to a valley of weeping, trouble, and sorrow. God can take this valley in one’s life and make it a fountain. He can take the rough places, the gloomy places, and change them into green pastures of pleasantness and beauty. God allows sorrows to mold and shapes one for one’s future blessings.

Tears that one cries during prayer moistens the spiritual roots of a person so the fruit of the spirit (love, joy, peace, etc.) can grow in one. What an awesome piece of wisdom.

The natural and the spiritual are so closely related. It makes perfect sense that tears work in the spiritual, just as rain works in the natural, for a crop to bear its fruit. Only God can give a human such a golden nugget of knowledge. There is just a clean refreshing look about nature after a rain. The trees, flowers, and grass have had its’ bath and is now basking in the aftermath of the rainstorm. One can just see and smell the cleanness. And so it is with mankind.

Many storms of life pounds upon one at times. One sometimes wonders if it will ever stop. God takes these storms and molds one into a vessel of honor for Him, if one will allow Him. He cleanses one through these dark times and shapes one’s destiny.

Ezekiel 34:26 reads, “And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing, and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.”

God also likes to shower one with blessings. Like a comforting rain after a storm, God will shower mankind with favor, comfort, and happiness. When life’s storms seem to keep one’s life-skies cloudy, the calming effect of the rain can soothe a troubled soul.

Psalms 72:6 says, “He shall come down like rain on the mown grass: as showers that water the earth.”

Sitting on my patio as the rain comes down is therapy within itself. It is so soothing to sit and watch God embellish the scenery with a slow steady calming rain. I see the lake across the street, the flowers around me on our patio, the little birds that come to eat out of our bird feeders etc. One can just relax for hours as nature receives its’ downpour. The downpour of His spirit into our troubles lives and soul is as refreshing to one as a rain. God is the only one that can take bad and make good come out of it. So look for your rain cloud and enjoy your shower of blessings because the storm will not last forever

I have personally been through many storms in my life but I have found if I remained faithful to my Lord blessings followed the storms.I encourage you, sisters and brothers, to be faithful to Jesus in the storms that come upon you and in the end You will be blessed.

Prayer

Lord Jesus help us each one when we become discouraged to just praise you in the trials and storms of life we face Jesus & thank you that you bottle up our tears and someday we will have no more suffering and pain when we are with You. Lord thank you that you heal our scars from the battles we face in life. Lord help us to lean on You in our pain and suffering in the storms that come upon us for You won’t give us more than we can bear Thank you for your great love to each of us… Jesus touch each one in this group today some or many who may be discouraged lord suffering pain and illness lift them above the discouragement and the sickness and give us all victory in You In Jesus name Amen
