Blessings in Grieving

Good morning! I hope you have had a wonderful week.

The way Jesus looked at things is so different from the way that I look at them. Who would think there were blessings in mourning? Yet Jesus said the mourners were blessed. Several months ago, during a time of mourning in our family, a good friend sent me this passage and by faith I held to it.

“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.” Matt 5:4

The word mourn means to grieve. The word comforted means to be called near or invited. How powerful is that? When we are in those lonely times with a big hole in our hearts and lives, Jesus says, “Come near!” In these times we are often a bit more “God Conscious” and it is in these times that God draws us near and shows us His love and tenderness. It is in these times that He gives us the opportunity to develop a closer relationship with Him. So I guess we would have to say there are Blessings in Grieving!

Just a Thought! God Bless…
