The Cost of Retribution

Joab was the son of Zerulah, the sister to King David. Joab was a general in David’s army. Joab was mostly accountable for the establishment of King David’s over the twelve tribes of Israel. He made harmony with his military rule of the empire. Joab was triumphant against the battle of Ishbosheth which the captain was Abner the son of Saul. In this particular battle, Abner killed Joab’s younger brother Asahel. Joab helped King David overpower against the Philistines. King David was the king of Israel and Judah, his son Absalom was the third son born to him.  Joab was a friend to Absalom, but Absalom rose up against Joab when Absalom made an effort to take possession of the throne of King David. Joab was loyal to King David he was unwavering. Joab pursued to kill Absalom even against the uttered command of King David. In the Word of God, it records,’’ Then said Joab, I may not tarry thus with thee. And he took three darts in his hand, and thrust them through the heart of Absalom, while he [was] yet alive in the midst of the oak. And ten young men that bare Joab’s armour compassed about and smote Absalom, and slew him’’. (11 Samuel 18:14, 15 KJV) King David grieved over his son Absalom. People let the enemy use them, sounds strange but it’s the truth. If we let the enemy in one time he will begin to drive us to do wicked things. People are inventing new ways to be more corrupt, immoral, and dishonest. Without God, in our lives, we aren’t anything. He is the one that gives us everything. Always do the right thing by people, God will always bless us. Stay encouraged my friends.
