Junk Food Christians
Junk food, such as hamburgers, fried chicken, pizza, soft drinks, and chips, are loaded with saturated fats. Too much-saturated fat in a person’s diet can lead to numerous health problems. Most of the junk food is labeled high in sugar, sodium, and food additives. This is to improve the way the food looks and tastes. In time our bodies can’t take the abuse of not eating well without a lot of fruits, vegetables, and lean meats such as poultry, seafood, and whole grains. Junk food is very low in protein, fiber, and vitamins. Some of the conditions associated with poor nutrition are heart diseases, dental problems, diabetes, and obesity. Junk food does have some things that the body needs such as salt, fat, and sugar. When a person exercises and drinks plenty of water, it will help burn energy while a person works out. What are we feeding our minds each day? We can’t think on negative thoughts all the time. The results of negative thoughts are so harmful to our spiritual walk. We can’t expect to be spiritually fit to fight against all powers of the enemy. We can’t survive spiritually if we don’t pray, if we don’t read our bibles and if we don’t dart through a church door unless to attend a funeral of a family member or a close friend. When we spend less time praying, reading our bibles, and attending church, is God really a part of our lives? Honestly, we can’t expect the good things the Lord has in store for us if we never attend church, never pray and never read our bibles. ‘’ His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord’’ (Matthew 25:23 KJV) Just as we can’t live on junk food, neither can our spiritual walk live on without the Lord in our lives.
