‘To get something you never had, you have to do something you never did.’ When God takes something from your grasp, He’s not punishing you, but merely opening your hands to receive something better.
Someone just emailed this to me you may have received it yourself. Think about this though. When we refuse to let go of something, God can’t give us more…If we hold on to a hurt from the past God cant fill that spot with joy. If we hold on to that wrong word or that bitter feeling, God cant fill that area with healing. We must let go so God can fill it up with good.
If we are clinging on to that branch how does our faith grow in God? Instead of walking by faith, we are walking as we are holding on to everything we have. Imagine walking on a board, the Lord is walking alongside you. It’s a long way down and there are no railings. Walking by faith would be to hold on to Jesus’ hand and allow him to steady us. Walking by our own strength would be to get down on your hands and knees and while grasping on to the board slowly crawl to the other side.
Trust in God, when he takes something out of your life it is for the better no matter what your feelings tell you. It is only so He can replace it with something better…it may take time though. Just let go and let God take control.
