You Know Too Much!
I was thumbing through one of the note books my Dad kept his sermon notes in and came across a sermon that spoke to my heart. I would like to share it with you. I remember him preaching this many times and will try to put it into words as best as I can.
Luke 8:41-42, 49-56, “ And, behold, there came a man named Jairus, and he was a ruler of the synagogue: and he fell down at Jesus’ feet, and besought him that he would come into his house: 42 For he had one only daughter, about twelve years of age, and she lay a dying… 49 While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master. 50 But when Jesus heard it, he answered him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole. 51 And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden. 52 And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead, but sleepeth. 53 And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead. 54 And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying, Maid, arise. 55 And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway: and he commanded to give her meat. 56 And her parents were astonished: but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.”
Jesus is on the way to the house of Jairus when they are met by someone from the house with the news the daughter is already dead. They knew she was dead because they had felt for her pulse. They knew she was dead because they had seen her eyes roll back in her head. They knew she was dead because they had seen the color leave her body. THEY KNEW TOO MUCH!
When the Lord speaks to us to witness to someone we can come up with all kinds of reasons not too. These folks are just too mean. I know they are not interested. The devil is telling us they are too dead! WE KNOW TOO MUCH!
The woman with the issue of blood came to Jesus. She had spent all of her living on doctors. She suffered much at the hands of the doctors. She had found no relief. But when she saw Jesus, faith went to work. Faith said “You can be healed!” The devil said, “Look at the crowd, you’ll never be able to press your way in.” Faith said, “You can do it, go ahead and try!” The devil said, “It won’t work.”
The woman pressed her way in and touched the hem of His garment. She was made whole and the devil was made a liar. If you are looking at the obstacles, YOU KNOW TOO MUCH!
Blind Bartimaeus was sitting by the side of the road begging when Jesus came by. He cried with a loud voice, “Jesus thou son of David have mercy on me!” The crowd said, “Be quiet, he doesn’t have time for you!” However, he cried louder, “Have mercy on me!” The crowd tried to quiet him again. They said, “He won’t heal you.” Jesus called Blind Bartimaeus and said, “What will you have?” He answered, “My healing!” Jesus healed him!
If you need something from God and you are listening to the voice of discouragement, YOU KNOW TOO MUCH! If you need healing in your body and you are listening to the voice of doom and despair, YOU KNOW TOO MUCH! If you are tired of living the way you have been living, sitting along the road of life, begging for a handout. If you are listening to the doubters saying you are living your destiny, YOU KNOW TOO MUCH!
It is time to let Jesus change the facts of life with the Acts of Life More Abundantly! The only thing we need to KNOW is JESUS is the Way, the Truth and the Life!
God Bless! I hope this blesses you as much as it did me. We often know so much we stop faith from being empowered.
I know to much, I got on my knees and prayed!!! Jesus can solve all our problems!
