THE ALTAR CALL The week was so long, The battles were rough. I needed my God, His spirit to lift me up. The preacher was done, It was time to pray. It felt so right, To be at the altar that day To reach out to see, If my hand could touch His. To believe His word, Repent and be cleansed I just wanted to cry, How could He love me so much? I felt so undeserving, Then came His touch. His arms wrapped around me, I knew He was there. I could feel His strength, His love and care. Give it all to me, The weight of the world. That is why I’m here, To be you, Lord. By Christy Miller
