Open My Eyes

We all have so many different purposes in life. Some want wealth and riches. Others want fame. Still, others just want to make it from one day to the next. I really enjoyed the purpose of life stated by the Psalmist.

Ps 119:17-18 Deal bountifully with thy servant, that I may live, and keep thy word. Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. KJV

His statement to the Lord is something like this: Only by you being kind to me can I live and I want to do that to keep your Word. Open the eyes of my spirit that I might see more than the letter of the Law, the rules, open the eyes of my heart that I might see You, the beauty of thy Word.

I remember my son in law and daughter teaching us the song that says, “Open the eyes of my heart Lord…I want to see you…to see you high and lifted up…”

That should be one of our real purposes in life, to live His Word and see His Wonder. Remember, He is the WORD!
