God’s Great Call For An Intercessor
By: Lynne Conley
Scripture Text: And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. Isaiah 59:16 KJV
Moses was a true example of an intercessor for the children of Israel. Moses was smart and well educated. God had a special calling for his life. He was the man that went before God on the Israelites’ behalf. He stood in the gap for Israel. God called Moses to be an intercessor. He went before God when his own sister, Miriam, made fun of him over the Ethiopian woman. She shouldn’t have said anything about him at all. She rebelled against the man of God in her life. ‘’And the cloud departed from off the tabernacle; and, behold, Miriam became leprous, white as snow: and Aaron looked upon Miriam, and, behold, she was leprous.” (Numbers 12:10 KJV) It was Moses that went before the throne of God on her behalf. Miriam was cleansed from leprosy. Miriam wasn’t perfect; this should help us all remember never to speak harshly to anyone. It’s not up to you or me to be their judge. We have to be aware of the enemy’s devices. The enemy uses mind games on every person who is trying to do better. We have to train our minds with the Word of God, prayer, and good encouraging friendships. We should stay away from people who will drag us down. So many times we all get caught up in friendships that are really bad for us. There are so many in the state penitentiaries who have committed crimes. The sentence was placed on them, and for many, it is imprisonment for life. Plenty of them committed harsh crimes for which the death sentence has been given, and there is no getting out of it. Their life of privacy exists no more. Stay Encouraged!
