”Get Busy In His Work”
Scripture Text: For mine, iniquities are gone over mine head: as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me. (Psalm 38:4 KJV)
Those who know me on a personal level know this was definitely God calling for me to go to the nursing home to visit the elderly. My only surviving grandmother had a stroke, and the stroke left her paralyzed on her left side, she was unable to walk ever again, and she had to be taken care of like a small baby. This tore me up to see her in this condition. I would go on my lunch hour and after work many times during the week to check on her, Sometimes she would be sleeping I didn’t wake her. I would reach over her and kiss her on her forehead. ‘’ I would whisper to her, ‘’Granny, this is Lenny, I love you so much, I’ll come back soon to see you.’’. I remember reminiscing about the good times we had together than to see her now all I could do was pray and weep. She died in that nursing home facility several years later. It’s been over three years since the Lord has opened a door for me to visit the elderly each week in a nursing home facility in Wytheville. Over the countless hours, I was there visiting my elderly friends each Thursday. There have been countless times my elderly friend would ask for coffee, juice, or just a soft drink. I would immediately go to the kitchenette on Unit B and grab what they were in need of at the present time. Down deep in our hearts, we may feel that the load is so heavy. The Lord permits things to happen to us. Even though the times of trouble, suffering, sickness, and pain. The Lord wants us to learn to lean on Him. Our future is so limited if we leave the Lord out of our lives. We shouldn’t speak negatively about the trying of our faith.’’ I don’t know if I’ll make it or not’’, possibly you’re going through financial difficulties’’, Perhaps you’re facing the difficulties of a handicapped child, parent, love one, a close friend, or a childhood buddy.’’ My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. (James 1:2-4 KJV) The work that the Lord has given me to do for Him; may not be what He has you to do for Him. But, if we strive to do that perfect for Him. It all works out to be apart of God’s workmanship. Keep Smiling!
