Good morning!
The other morning I was sitting along a country road waiting for the time to pick up a passenger. I caught a motion out of the corner of my eye and turned to see a blue jay land across the street. I find birds to be interesting and sat watching him for as long as he was there. I noticed that he would peck the ground two or three times, quickly, then look all around him before repeating the pecking of the ground. I realized the bird was watching for his enemies, being careful they had no opportunity to pounce on him.
“But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh , to fulfil the lusts thereof.” Rom 13:14
As I watched the bird I came to realize this is actually the way we need to live our lives, spiritually. The Bibles speaks of our enemy being like a lion trying to devour us. He can only do this if we give him the opportunity. I have to purpose in my heart to always be watchful, never taking it for granted that I am to strong to fall. David lamented over his friend Jonathan, “How are the mighty fallen?” I guess we need to be bird watchers…
Just a thought! God Bless…
