Good morning! I hope your week is off to a great start and that you enjoyed your weekend.
We are always looking for a “sure thing.” Something that we can know for certain is going to work to our benefit, but sadly enough there are few sure things in life. In fact one man said there are only two things that are certain in life and that is death and taxes and there is a lot of truth to that.
“Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” Ps 1:1-2
One “sure thing” in life is the way to be blessed. The Psalmist assures us the man who doesn’t listen to the advice of those who are ungodly, doesn’t live the lifestyle of the sinner, and doesn’t associate with the mocker of God. If this man will find joy in the Word of God and ponder it in his heart and live it daily, this man is going to be blessed. It is a “sure thing!”
