It’s Carpet Cleaning Time
In March 2007, I had planned to clean some carpets in a particular building. The Pedigree/Regulatory Department was moving into this particular building in a few weeks. My work days were going to be busier than the norm because part of this building hadn’t been used for years. These particular rooms had become a disaster area. This area was mainly used for storage space, a junk room. It had old torn and faded cubicles, folding chairs, old desks and banker boxes. I made a few calls and sent an email or two to try to get this room cleaned out. The maintenance men’s came to help me move all the junk out to the dumpster. It took several trips to the dumpster, but finally, the rooms were cleared out. Once the area was cleaned out, I vacuumed all those rooms well. the carpets weren’t Berber or some other expensive brand name. This was cheap carpet. The carpets were in rough shape: faded and badly stained. The carpets were in rough shape: faded and badly stained. It was nasty looking I had thought to myself. One evening I spot treated the carpets and later would shampoo them all. Once the shampooing was done, time would really tell if all the spots would come clean. The next day I was eager to see if all the carpets had come clean. To my surprise the carpets were clean. Could we imagine our life is like a piece of dirty carpet? In the Word of God, it records, ‘’ And the Lord said unto him, Now do ye Pharisees make clean the outside of the cup and the platter, but your inward part is full of ravening and wickedness’’. (Luke 11:39 KJV) We all have been walked on, abused by circumstances, and taken advantage of by someone. Sometimes it’s us that really open ourselves to those kinds of circumstances. Down deep we are hanging on to that past hurt, past circumstance, and past damaging times. Are we giving all our dirtiness in our hearts to the Lord in prayers? We can’t seem to get rid of all the past hurts, failures, disappointments, and feel we are so distant from the Lord because of all that has come our way. The only way the Lord will use us is if we have a clean heart before Him. Simon Peter was the prime example to show us what’s really going on in our hearts. In the Word of God, it records, ‘’ And the Lord turned, and looked upon Peter. And Peter remembered the word of the Lord, how he had said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And Peter went out, and wept bitterly’’ (Luke 22:61, 62 KJV) We all can have a spotless heart before the Lord. Stay Encouraged, My true desire is to help others because it’s not about me, my friends. It’s all about HimJ
