Selective Memory Loss

I believe that everyone will agree that the mind is extremely powerful when working correctly. Likewise, when the mind is not working as it should, the threat to ourselves and others can be monumental. I remember about nineteen months ago, my mother was suffering from advanced stages of dementia. The doctors transferred her from the hospital to a hospice house and estimated that she would live for only a few more days. They explained that because of the dementia, her mind wasn’t communicating to… Continue

The Anatomy of a Busybody

I have spoken with many individuals over the past years that have been devastated by the attacks of the busybody. Some of these attacks have contributed to great hurt and discouragements, leaving or becoming inactive in the ministry, backsliding and on some occasions, thoughts of suicide. Some of these attacks have been against individual Christians, some against church leaders and in some cases, a direct attack against a church itself.

To better clarify the title I have chosen, one of the mean… Continue

Slow to speak!

About twenty-five year ago, I was still young in the ministry and was serving as an associate pastor in the church I currently pastor. It was a Sunday afternoon; service had ended and a few of us were standing around talking and deciding where we were going to eat lunch. One of the sisters got my attention to point out a man that had entered the sanctuary and had taken a seat near the front of the church.

I went to the man, extended my hand as I introduced myself. He stood to his feet as he sho… Continue

Hi Gary!
How is everything going? I hope you are doing okay! I hate I missed seeing your Dad and hearing him preach while he was in town. Brenda will be singing in Rogersville tomorrow night and wants me to come see her. It's a little far, but I may try...if I can find the church.
I hope you are having a great weekend!! Take Care! talk to you later!
Carol :)

GOD BLESSED ME! By: Debra Hearn Jones-3-12-10

God is on time, and recently blessed me in a way , That still makes me feel like I am walking on Air. This is a story about Love, worthiness, and learning to trust, Jesus first and man second. It is also about being released from a life long bondage of hate. I share this for His Glory! My Lord and Savior , Jesus!

The Gift of Life Can Be a Battle

In our lives, we may face many difficult challenges. Situations that demand our immediate attention. Sometimes we become so overwhelmed with troubles in our world, that we easily forget about this blessing called life! If a person is not careful, they will only focus on the bad, and forget the good in their world! Learn to see the beauty that is in life, take a good look at what you do have in this life of yours. This will help you through the battle's that do come in this life of ours.

Take Up Your Bed and Walk!

Has life dealt you a stinky mess? Maybe it is time you took up your bed and walked!

Can You Believe Him for the Glory?

We don't have a hard time believing God for the past, we have seen and heard. We don't have time believing God for the present, we know He can do it. We don't have a hard time believing Him for the future we believe His Word and that He will. However, we do have a hard time believing that the test we are facing can bring Glory to God...

Church Leaders: What Are We Building

Why is one the biggest problem of the church today retention? I have heard of wonderful evangelistic events that have resulted in many being born again: yet a short time later, these people cannot be found. To me, this is a problem. Maybe it has to do with what we are building?
