Our Apostolic Heritage - As We Recall

Here we will try to capture some of the lively stories and pictures of the pioneers, brush arbors, churches, and our elders, who have shaped our Apostolic Fellowship. Maybe it will inspire, challenge and evoke memories of our Apostolic past.

Our Apostolic Heritage is rich with the many Miracles of Faith that have touched every family that shares this great truth.

We will try to recall some of those wonderful stories of faith, healings, miracles of provisions and so many glorious blessings that God has bestowed on our families as they have told them over and over through our lives.

We will share pictures, along with our stories, and hopefully bring to life many of these great events. PLEASE POST PHOTOS OF THE PIONEER PREACHERS AND THEIR WIVES, WITH AS MUCH STORY FOR EACH AS POSSIBLE. COMMENTS ARE WELCOME, BUT TO POST YOUR PICTURES AND STORIES, PLEASE START A DISCUSSION FOR EACH STORY AND SET OF PICTURES. and DO NOT POST PICTURES AND LONG STORIES TO THE COMMENT SECTION ON THIS PAGE. For additional comments or pictures concerning a particular post, please add to the original posting. (ex. If you wish to comment about my posting, then just follow the thread of my discussion. Or to begin another story, please start a new discussion.) The size of your photo should be no larger than 400 pixels wide. This will prevent unusual loading for each page. Pictures larger than requested will be deleted.

We prefer the pictures to be in the era between the early twentieth century and no later than the 1960s to begin with. These can include pictures of brush arbors, tabernacles, churches, schools, congregations, dinners on the ground, baptizings and of course our families and ministers. Anything related to our church history will be great.

This will be an exciting journey, traveling through memory lane, down by the tabernacle and sitting under the brush arbors, when life was so simple and people trusted God for everything.

ENJOY!

Thank God for my Apostolic heritage. Including My Grandmother and Mother(both gone on to meet the Lord) there are five generations of Apostolics in my family. Remember the old sawdust floors at campmettings and the 1/2"x4" plank benches.Oh, the trouble we boys could get into with plank bench in front of us. Remember those whippings we got. LOL What some young people see as a burden, is actually a badge of Honor.

Including my grandmother and mother who have passed on, there is five generations of of Apostolic Pentecostals in my family, including my granddaughter. My Family has been Oneness Pentecostal since 1951. Thats a lot of tradition and a lot to live up to. We plan to have a family reunion in heaven.

I am a 1st generation Apostolic and am so thankful for the Lord leading me to this awesome truth... I continue everyday to pray for the Lord to help me live and learn all that He has for me so that I may be able to teach my family. All of my childern and step-childern are grown and do not understand why or how we have gotten off into this way of living... but we have grandchildern and I pray that thru them we can reach their parents... the two oldest grand-daughters have just turned 4 and 5 and I have been taking every chance I can (that the Lord provides) to teach them things.... it is so awesome the way their eyes will light up whenever I talk to them about Jesus... and they love to pray with grandma... I pray that one day ALL our family will come to know this... Meanwhile I am enjoying reading what has been posted so far... I also love to hear my brothers and sisters tell me stories of generations past.... ~May God Bless You All~

GOD BLESSED ME! By: Debra Hearn Jones-3-12-10

God is on time, and recently blessed me in a way , That still makes me feel like I am walking on Air. This is a story about Love, worthiness, and learning to trust, Jesus first and man second. It is also about being released from a life long bondage of hate. I share this for His Glory! My Lord and Savior , Jesus!

The Gift of Life Can Be a Battle

In our lives, we may face many difficult challenges. Situations that demand our immediate attention. Sometimes we become so overwhelmed with troubles in our world, that we easily forget about this blessing called life! If a person is not careful, they will only focus on the bad, and forget the good in their world! Learn to see the beauty that is in life, take a good look at what you do have in this life of yours. This will help you through the battle's that do come in this life of ours.

Take Up Your Bed and Walk!

Has life dealt you a stinky mess? Maybe it is time you took up your bed and walked!

Can You Believe Him for the Glory?

We don't have a hard time believing God for the past, we have seen and heard. We don't have time believing God for the present, we know He can do it. We don't have a hard time believing Him for the future we believe His Word and that He will. However, we do have a hard time believing that the test we are facing can bring Glory to God...

Church Leaders: What Are We Building

Why is one the biggest problem of the church today retention? I have heard of wonderful evangelistic events that have resulted in many being born again: yet a short time later, these people cannot be found. To me, this is a problem. Maybe it has to do with what we are building?
